About Dr. Bush

Dr. Bush is excited to make his services available to your organization. Dr. Bush is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Addiction Medicine and Hospice & Palliative Medicine. He lives in Maryland and has been practicing for 15 years. He graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2004, as a Doctor of Medicine. Prior to this, Dr. Bush attended State University of New York at Buffalo School of Pharmacy receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in 1994. In 1996, he received a Master’s in Business Administration from the State University New York at Buffalo School of Management.

In his quite storied healthcare career, Dr. Bush started as a medic (& later LPN) in the US Army Reserve. He volunteered during desert storm stateside, having trained as a combat medic. He subsequently practiced as a pharmacist with Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY; completed Internal Medicine Residency with SUNY Buffalo and subsequently worked as a Fellow and Attending Physician for the Pain and Palliative Care Services at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, MD; as Medical Director for Capital Caring in Washington, D.C.  Medical Director of Hospice with Gilchrist and a Geriatrics Attending Physician at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. He previously served as Medical Director of Frederick Memorial Hospital Pain and Supportive Care Services (obtaining Joint Commission Certification for the Inpatient Palliative Care Service), and Medical Director of Hospice of Frederick County, which received national recognition during his tenure in 2015 with the Circle of Life Citation of Honor for Excellence in Hospice and Palliative Care. He also served as the Chairman of Frederick Memorial Hospital Ethics Committee.

Most recently, since 2016, Dr. Bush has served as the Chief Medical Officer for Hospice of the Chesapeake & Chesapeake Palliative Medicine located in Pasadena, Maryland.

Personally, Dr. Bush is the oldest of 3 siblings and met his wife in medical school. He and his wife continue to reside in Maryland with their children. During his free time, Dr. Bush enjoys nature walks with his wife and playing tennis.
